Using Social Media to Get Connected

My experience with social media has been pleasant. I don't have any negative insights or experiences using social media. I am very careful about who I follow and what is presented on my timelines. As far as advocacy I would use all social media outlets. My favorite social media is Instagram. People are always caught by what they see first. If I can find images that are eye catching with sayings, quotes, stats that are powerful about my advocacy effort then I could draw in people. Social media could definitely be a driving force for a lot of advocacy efforts.

  1. Hi Quintina,
I think Instagram is an excellent social media tool especially if you create a page that is geared towards just your advocacy. As there are so many professional people that are on there that are making statements about their businesses and causes.

  2. Quintina,
I agree with you and feel that Instagram is the most simple and effective social media outlet to use for advocacy. You are absolutely correct in stating that images catch people's eyes and I feel that people are more prone to spend a minute or two reading information in a photo caption than they are to visit an official website link or blog and read through several paragraphs of information. If you can catch people's attention and motivate them to learn more about an issue, you can then advertise through posting the link to your website in the profile space of your instagram.
